Level Premium

Life Insurance

A. Compare quotes

B. Choose policy

C. Apply

Duration categories:

• Length of coverage:

a. Term: You select a specific number of years to be covered, i.e., the 'term'. The guaranteed level premium ends at the end of that number of years. There is no renewal at the same rate. Without requalifying, it may be possible to continue the policy with an annually increasing rate or to convert to a Universal Life policy.

Otherwise, you would have to requalify medically in a fresh application to buy another term. The rate will be higher because you will be that much older.

b. Lifetime: If you select Lifetime Level Guaranteed, there is no limit on the period covered. Lifetime Level Guaranteed is a Universal Life policy designed so that you pay the same guaranteed level premium for life. It has a level premium like a level premium term policy, but it is Universal Life Insurance so it can produce a lifetime duration of coverage.

Ordinary Universal Life policies can be for lifetime, but they do not have a level premium guarantee for life as these plans do.

• Guaranteed level premium vs. expected level premium:

a. (**): If you make any term selection in the drop-down box for 'Duration' for anything other than "Guaranteed', the resulting list will include all policies, whether guaranteed level or not. Consequently, there may be some quote results included that are designated (**) under the Premium heading, meaning that the premium is designed to stay level but it is not guaranteed to do so.

In some cases, the premium may be lower for (**) than (gtd), but the risk of whether or not the premium can be kept level for the whole term is yours.

b. (gtd): If you select any choice that says 'Guaranteed', then the list of quote results will include only those where the premium is guaranteed to be level for the entirety of the chosen term. Under the 'Premium' heading, every result will be listed as (gtd). All (**) are eliminated.

• Premium refund or not:

a. 'Return of Premium' (ROP) means that all premiums will be refunded to you provided you pay premiums for the entire term. If you terminate the policy before the end of the term, there may be a pro-rated refund.

b. For all others, not designated ROP, there is never a refund of premiums paid.

• Combined results:

a. '10+20+30' means that up to twelve each of 10, 20, and 30 year term quotes will be included in the same list. Listed first is 10 year term, then 20 year term, then 30 year term.

b. For all others, the only entries in the list of quotes will be for the number of years that you select.

Health Class

In most cases, you can not know what your Health Class is for sure until you have applied and receive notification from the insurance company. The actual Health Class is determined by the insurance company alone when it processes your application.

There is a "Health Analyzer" in the quoting results page that may be of assistance, or you can call us for help in determining what might reasonably be expected.
