'Health Class'
Most applicants will fit into one of these four categories. There is a variation between companies as to which category some applicants will qualify for, e.g., some companies are more generous with the height-weight table in determing the health class category.
For all life insurance companies the average applicant qualifies for "Regular". You may qualify for a better category if you are in above average health. You may qualify for "Preferred Plus" if you are in perfect health, take no medications, and your paramedic exam results are all in the normal range.
An applicant can not know with absolute certainty what Health Class will be assigned until after applying and receiving notification from the insurance company. The actual Health Class is determined by the insurance company alone when it processes your application.
We can get custom quotes for those with serious health conditions that go beyond what this automated quoting can provide. Please call us at 1-800-7093.
In addition, for some applicants there may be factors other than health status which determine the category assigned.
The term "Regular" is used instead of "Standard" because while many companies now use the term "Standard" for the Regular class, some companies still use the term "Standard" to refer to "Smoker" rates. Regular was chosen to help avoid confusion.
